Preventing "Shark" Attacks

There is one thing that always remains consistent in internet marketing no matter how hard true professionals and caring people try to eradicate it. I am talking about that small group of people known collectively as "sharks" or "scammers"

Most times this unscrupulous group of people target newcomers but all too often experienced marketers become victims as well. The result is lost money, lost time and the loss of someone who may have become a great internet marketer had they not fallen prey to a "shark". This is perhaps the greatest loss because untold numbers of people have been driven away from internet marketing, often feeling foolish, and most never will come back. Along with this goes a rise in the general consent amongst the public that the internet is an unwise place to build your dreams around because all that will happen is you will get "taken".

It is up to us as individuals and as a whole to show that this is not the case. If we don't use our knowledge and experience to help those who are most at risk of being taken advantage of - newcomers and those who have lost confidence - then this belief in the fallacy of internet marketing as a viable income earning opportunity will continue to grow. Yes, I know that everyday there are more people turning to the internet and joining income opportunities but there are also many leaving. Just check some of your downlines to see how many are no longer active or don't respond to your emails.

Here are three suggestions for you based on my experience that can be used to help those who either have been caught or run a risk of being caught by a "shark".

- Provide open lines of communication with your members or downline. Use your knowledge and experience to help them when they are checking out a new program or site. Don't be afraid to give your opinion.

- If you own or operate a member site where people are able to advertise other sites, be ruthless in checking out which programs, materials, or services are allowed on your site. It happens all to often that members will sign up for something they see on a site they trust, only to find out to late that they have just been "bitten".

- Provide access to training sites, articles and materials for your members to use freely or pay a nominal fee for. This is one area where a lot of us fall short (including me although I am taking steps to rectify this) and with the wealth of material out there there really is no reason to.
